Alabama Residential Treatment Center for Girls

Residential Treatment Center for Alabama Girls Benefits

Every residential treatment center (RTC) for Alabama girls is unique from the others in some manner. Despite the variations, there are certain underlying qualities that are universal and generally contribute to why residential may be so successful.

Continuous monitoring and 24/7 assistance are provided in all residential treatment centers for girls, which is a big benefit over other types of care. Even though it occasionally seems intrusive, this continuing care and monitoring aid in tracking patient progress, identifying areas of difficulty, and preventing relapse.

From the patient’s prior life, distance. Distance from one’s family and current circumstances may aid in acquiring discernment and perspective, as well as in surrounding oneself with healthy people, by getting away from toxic people, triggering situations, etc.

Residential treatment centers generally offer different therapeutic techniques for girls (rather than just the standard “talk therapy” present in many outpatient institutions). Numerous residential treatment facilities have a holistic philosophy and include treatments for treating the mind, body, and spirit. Trauma treatment, horse therapy, art therapy, and different experiential therapies are a few typical techniques.

Frequent sessions – a residential treatment center for Alabama girls like Evangelhouse frequently offer patients a wide range of therapy modalities in addition to more frequent appointments. A patient’s rehabilitation can get off to a faster start and a trustworthy therapeutic connection can be built by being able to visit a therapist every day (or at least having one accessible every day). In a residential treatment program, therapists are able to visit their patients in a variety of settings, which fosters the therapeutic connection in addition to the number of sessions (not just within the confines of an office). Therapists and counselors frequently lead therapy groups, go on trips or share meals with patients, or engage in experiencing activities with patients during residential treatment. This enables therapists to see patients in a variety of settings and obtain a deeper understanding of who they are and their struggles.

Structure and Routine: A residential treatment center (RTC) for girls often follows a daily routine that is moderately organized. Patients will have regular mental health and medical visits, as well as time set aside for leisure and/or exercise. They will also engage in home tasks and responsibilities.

We are the #1 choice for a residential treatment center for girls for Alabama families. We have enrolled students from Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, and across the state. Give us a call today to set up a tour and see if Evangelhouse is right for your daughter.

Choosing the Right RTC for your Daughter

It might be difficult to choose which residential treatment center for Alabama girls is the greatest fit for your daughter and your family. Here are some pointers for assessing residential treatment programs:

    • To learn about families and children’s experiences with the program, check online and with the organization; if you can, speak to a family whose daughter has successfully finished the program.
    • Ask why the program was reported to state authorities if it has been, and what the findings of any investigations were.
    • Programs that prevent family interaction should be avoided.
    • Make sure the residential program includes a strategy for upholding responsible conduct, encouraging virtuous behavior, and reducing hostility. Make sure that verbal threats of punishment and intimidation are forbidden.
    • Look for organizations having a history of assisting children with comparable problems.
    • Ensure that their therapies are based on ones that have been effective for people who have your child’s particular problems.

Ask the program’s staff questions. If staff members are unable to address your concerns, they should direct you to a program participant who can. Ask how you can keep an eye on your child’s growth as well. At any time, you should be able to learn how your child is doing.

Inquire about possible programs and ask the therapist or psychiatrist who treats your kid in your neighborhood to assist you in learning more.

Evangelhouse RTC for Alabama girls provides a structured program for your daughter in what was call a “Healthy Peer Culture.” With supervision, students experience the social atmosphere, group therapeutic process, and spiritual tone of campus life. We nurture a healthy peer culture that emphasizes social responsibility, accountability, and leadership. The staff leads weekly interactive small-group meetings to teach students character development within their current social interactions. Here students learn relevant ways to apply biblical teachings to their actions. As students progress, they learn to look beyond themselves to provide encouragement and support for others.

Child and Adolescent services are offered for those 18 years old and younger who meet the criteria for SED. Alabama’s treatment providers offer a continuum of care ranging from crisis, outpatient, outreach, day, and residential. One or more of these services is offered in all 67 counties. Residential Treatment Center for Alabama Girls Focused On Academics

At Evangelhouse Residential Treatment Center for Alabama girls, licensed teachers with advanced degrees administer a nationally accredited curriculum through the Louisiana Department of Education. Our unique and thorough therapeutic evaluation process guides education planning for each student. Student-to-teacher ratios accommodate learning difficulties presented by complex mood and behavior disorders. An integrative classroom day incorporates biblical teaching, group counseling, and academic work. We offer three educational tracts within our boarding school academic program. The individual attention we provide can support students who are advanced academically alongside those who may struggle.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 5% of high school students in Alabama drop out each year. We know this affects a student’s future employment, earnings, potential health and so much more. We also know that students who have mental health issues at school are more likely to have poor school adjustment, fewer friends, more family discord, and future potential problems like drug and alcohol use, dropping out, and more. Recent studies also reveal that the mental health of teens gets worse as academic problems grow.

Today is the day to take action to set your daughter’s academic path in the right direction. We can help get her back on track quickly and support her as she blossoms into the bright, high-achieving student she is destined to be.

At Evangelhouse Residential Treatment Center, an integrative classroom day incorporates biblical teaching, group counseling, and academic work. We offer three educational tracts within our boarding school academic program. The individual attention we provide can support students who are advanced academically alongside those who may struggle. Our goal for academics is to quickly adjust to your daughter’s learning level which often improves as stressors and behavioral problems subside.

    Evangelhouse RTC Classroom

At Evangelhouse RTC for girls, we believe that academics and community involvement are the cornerstones of student progress. Students can expect comparable-age smaller, traditional classroom settings for instruction that aim to provide good academic support within a close niche community. Additionally, college prep classes further promote student achievement.

Oftentimes, parents first recognize the influence of their troubled teen’s behavior reflected on their declining report card grades. Behaviors such as skipping classes, disorganization, reprehensible conduct at school, and inappropriate social media usage are just some behaviors that tend to negatively affect academic performance. A variety of emotional issues may be present in a teenage girl that can lead to lower achievement in school, and the staff at Evangelhouse specializes in helping girls overcome these situations.

When troubled teen girls experience a serious academic setback, it is important to redirect their behavior. At Evangelhouse, our program enables students to re-establish academic goals, and engage in a plan of action that accelerates learning to make up missed credits and graduation requirements. Most importantly, each student will receive individualized instruction that is tailor-made for their academic needs. The notable difference at Evangelhouse when compared to traditional school settings is that students with learning problems such as dyslexia or ADHD/ADD among others will receive individualized instruction that addresses their needs.  In this setting, it is possible to adjust the pace of instruction and instructors build strong working relationships with their students.

Additional mental health issues that weigh into your daughter’s academic performance may include and not be limited to the following: energy levels, attentiveness, reliability, mental capacity, and optimism. There exists substantial research to support the fact that depression contributes to declining grade point averages and anxiety. Studies have also connected an increase in depression among the teenage population to an increase in dropout rates among high school students.

When your daughter attends Evangelhouse, symptoms of depression are alleviated. As symptoms of depression decrease, your daughter’s academic performance will improve. Our program at Evangelhouse is supported by studies that have shown a direct correlation between emotional issues and academic performance. With highly specialized staff, your daughter will receive the help she needs to resolve emotional issues.

RTCs often welcome girls between the ages of 12 and 17. Children begin to make decisions and start living their lives as young adults at the age of twelve. They are transitioning into new situations, approaching puberty, and developing their future identities.

Teenagers are regarded as adults after the age of seventeen, which is eighteen. Since they are now considered adults in the United States, this implies that you as their parent don’t have as much influence over their life. Unless specifically stated, an adolescent residential treatment center cannot accept students after the age of seventeen.

This school literally has given my daughter her life back and has given us the tools to help her and herself into the future. This is a full circle, all encompassing program. From admission to graduation. Do not delete this school from your list! I almost did because it was far away...and...to be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about a "Christian" school. Whether you are religious or not, don't be put off or think your child is going to be brainwashed. She's not! It is a part of the day and I thought my daughter would hate it (and so did she). But it turns out she found great comfort there and her faith! I thoroughly investigated this school. In addition to my own research, I also hired a company that researches and screens these types of programs. I also had my daughter's psychiatrist interview the director! I've done all the researching and investigating for you. Whatever your daughter's issues may be, I probably have them covered! My daughter's diagnosis' range from ADHD, Anxiety, High Risk Behavior, Adoption issues/trauma and psychosis. Do not waste your time. Don't wait for Spring or end of school or whatever timeline. Act now! The happiest day of my life was delivering her to the ECA. I actually slept for the first time in years. Knowing my daughter was finally getting the help she so deserved. Therapy, school, socialization, faith, responsibility, accountability, self-worth and confidence. We all ask or pray for help. Consider ECA as prayers answered.

We had a troubled teen. I found ECA online. I made a call and set up a visit. We were looking for a place that included God and biblical principles in their program. Now that our child has finished the program, WOW! Thank you ECA leadership. Every one on staff believes in the program. It shows! and it works!!

This school has been an absolute Godsend for my daughter and our family. We realized a few months ago that she needed residential treatment. After an exhaustive search, we found the wonderful people at Evangelhouse. They do an amazing job keeping parents updated and are always available when we call. I have been impressed with the way that they are firm with the girls but also loving and caring. The process there is amazing, especially since it involves the family also. We were so happy to find a place that provides professional counseling with a Christian focus.

Two years ago we were struggling to get our daughter on the right track. We had tried everything and knew that she would need to be placed in a residential treatment facility. We had searched for at least a year to find the right place. Were looking for a Christian, all girls, small, therapeutic program not too far from Texas. Somehow, someway, God lead us to the Evangelhouse website. We are so glad that we took his direction because it has meant a world of difference for our daughter, our family, our marriage, and our peace of mind! Evangelhouse has taken a once broken, low-self esteem, miserable, self-centered, hostile, angry, self-doubting teenager in crisis and changed her into a Christ-centered, selfless, self-loving, servant-hearted, mature, sensible, responsible, thoughtful young adult. ECA implements a program that strips each student down to the bare necessities in order for them to focus on what is truly important in life. I don't know where we would be without ECA. I now know what it is like to have a functional, happy, and peaceful family life.

I have know Mark and Karen for over 20yrs. You will not find a more dedicated and compassionate couple to work with and care for your children.

    Gender and Age-Specific Treatment

Researchers have found that gender-specific rehab is the most effective way to treat mental health and addiction issues. Evangelhouse Academy is only for girls grades 6-12. We also don’t accept girls with higher-level issues that would be disruptive to our program. This would include girls with severe drug addictions, psychosis, significant running away, or cruelty towards animals.

With our positive peer culture focus, your daughter will learn to set boundaries with other girls. Because we are girls only, she will not have the distractions of boys and relationships around.  In our therapeutic milieu, she will learn to be assertive with her female peers in a safe environment.

Evangelhouse is organized around five areas of wellness in which students grow – Spiritual, Therapeutic, Academic, Social, and Physical. This structure provides a holistic perspective of a student’s level of functioning. Our professional services address the following symptoms and their underlying root causes in each area of wellness.

Quarterly, students participate in high-ropes confidence training and are taught to take on challenging tasks with the help of their peers. They are challenged to become aware of their communication habits and how to make meaningful contributions to others. Students’ unique leadership styles are identified and honed, as they learn to work cooperatively within a group.

At Evangelhouse Christian Academy, we believe that physical education for girls is an important part of the therapeutic process. By allowing students to express themselves through a variety of supervised outdoor activities, they will learn valuable leadership skills that will help guide them through life.
