Position Available: Clinical Intern

The Clinical Intern is a support team member for Evangelhouse® clinical care. The Clinical Intern works under the supervision of the Teen and Family Therapist and is responsible for case management services and clinical support services as directed. The Clinical Intern may work as a co-therapist in individual, family and group psychotherapy interventions when needed. She works to support the therapeutic process of change as defined by the Lifeleaf philosophy. She maintains upbeat, positive and professional communications for team members, clients, referral sources, callers, and outside agencies. Likewise, the clinical intern is responsible to maintain communication regarding internship requirements between her Evangelhouse supervisor and her graduate school field supervisor.

• Experience in leadership
• Able to Maintain CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Management Training
• Valid Louisiana chauffeur’s driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
• Bachelor or Master Degree in a related field
• Strong communication skills through email, phone calls, and video conferencing
• Ability to model a Christ-centered lifestyle to students, families, staff, and the public
• Ability to be physically active, indoors and outside; includes walking, running, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, etc.
• Willingness to learn basic clinical skills
• Adapt to a variety of tasks with a willingness to be flexible in duties

In coordination with and under the supervision and direction of the Teen and Family Therapist:

Case Management

o Communicate important clinical data with parents and students
o Effectively use the Evangelhouse technology and communication systems
o Transport students to Psychiatric appointments according to policy
o Manage clinical documentation, confidential files and records management
o Coordinate records management, data entry and storage
o Manage office technology and phone system
o Ability to integrate Christian principles into work environment
o Serve as liaison between students, staff, parents, and other mental health professionals
o Coordinate medication management with the Residential Operations Director
o Assist with system of student health needs reporting and documentation
o Diplomatically serve as liaison between staff, parents, and referring professionals
o Support program tours for referring professionals and parents

Clinical Assessment and Treatment

o Learn the admission process for new students
o Manage admission calls
o Complete psychosocial assessments upon admissions
o Complete initial treatment plan upon admissions
o Define DSM-V diagnoses for each student
o Complete family orientations at each stage promotion
o Process stage promotion packets and send to parents and staff for votes
o Update stage-related treatment plans
o Function as co-therapist with Family Agreement packet sessions
o Assist with clinical care and documentation
o Send records and communicate updates to the Psychiatrist
o Support planning and implementation of ropes course events and graduation events
o Organize and compile discharge instruction summaries
o Coordinate the transfer of confidential records to outside agencies according to policy

o Hospitable, friendly and welcoming personality
o Ability to understand and maintain appropriate boundaries with students and families
o Flexibility to take responsibility for miscellaneous duties when necessary
o Coordinate visit plans in conjunction with parents and office staff
o Assist with the admissions process before, during and after admission day

  • Part-time position within 9-5 Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work.
  • Full-time work opportunities may be available outside of clinical responsibilities.
  • Salary range depends on experience and internship guidelines provided by school of enrollment.
  • Experiences provided may meet requirements for Master’s degree matriculation or state licensure, depending on professional guidelines within field of study.

Position Available: Residential Mentor

The Residential Mentor is one of several key team members for overseeing Evangelhouse® student life within the dorm. The Residential Mentor maintains the established schedule and proper order within the therapeutic boarding school dorm. She establishes an upbeat environment of support and encouragement for students while teaching interpersonal skills, life-skills, and relationship boundaries. She provides unique opportunities for teachable moments and Biblical counsel with each student. She supports students in making choices to support a positive peer culture. She oversees and documents student behavior, medical needs, meal preparation, and family communications according to the program structure.

• BA/BS in a field related to behavioral health
• Or a BA/BS in a non-related field or ministry experience with the requirement of obtaining a behavioral health certification within one year of hire
• Experience working with adolescents in Christian discipleship
• Management and or leadership training
• CPR, First Aid, and Behavior Management Training
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
• Able to operate a passenger vehicle

Christian Discipleship

• Model a Christ-centered lifestyle to students, families, staff, and the community
• Effectively promote Christian growth within Biblically-based principles
• Understand and maintain professional boundaries with students and families
• Establish trust and a healthy rapport with students and families
• Professionally maintain confidentiality of students and families

Dorm Supervision

• Ability to be physically active, indoors and outside; includes walking, running, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, carrying items up to 40lbs, etc.
• Supervise daily routines, light cleaning, basic cooking skills
• Teach students practical life skills
• Effectively lead group and supervise activities
• Prioritize multiple tasks and bring them to completion
• Fosters critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution among students
• Effective communication using computers, technology and reporting systems
• Willingness to learn new skills, follow directions, adapt to a variety of tasks, and a desire to grow in her profession

• Full-time position
• Starting salary $33,000+ depending on experience
