Georgia Therapeutic Boarding School for Girls

We are a Therapeutic Boarding School for girls from Georgia. We serve girls from Georgia and across the US.  We are just a short drive away from anywhere in Georgia including Atlanta and we welcome scheduled tours from interested families.

Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school was established in 1995 to serve Christian families with a quality residential treatment option for troubled teen girls.  Since then, it has evolved to become the premier non-denominational Christian option in the marketplace of high-quality teen residential treatment centers.

At Evangelhouse, we get so many girls from Georgia we created this page for Georgia families looking for a Christian all-girls boarding school. Girls in large cities like Atlanta, Columbus, Augusta, Macon, and Savannah face unique mental health challenges.

Therapeutic Boarding School for Girls or a Georgia RTC?

Choosing Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls over local Georgia residential treatment centers (RTC’s) may be the best for your daughter. It all depends on the circumstances behind your concern and your daughter’s specific needs. Our program is a Christian-based, highly sophisticated clinical treatment at the forefront of teen behavioral healthcare. Evangelhouse Chrisitan Academy is designed to meet the requirements of teen girls in grades 6-12.

While a residential treatment center generally offers a higher level of psychiatric care, this higher level comes with trade-offs. Students at residential treatment centers will be more severe in their illness. This means more exposure to potential hazards like violence, anger, or talk of drugs and alcohol. Residential treatment centers tend to be more hospital-like, and therapeutic boarding schools like Evangelhouse tend to be more home-like.

We feel that the home-like setting is more appropriate for the level of girls we accept. After all, we are preparing our girls for the transition home. Therefore, an environment like the Evangelhouse campus is a better place to practice new coping skills and ways of interacting and socializing versus a stale hospital-like setting. Because our girls live together on campus, they can help each other in academic and extracurricular activities.

However, that’s not to say Evangelhouse Christian Academy is lacking in our clinical department. Our focus is just more on repairing relationships with family and learning new coping skills versus medication management.  Our clinical program includes family therapy techniques as we firmly believe in the strength and vitality of family bonds, along with finding support spiritually in our non-denominational setting.

Parental involvement in residential treatment is the most important aspect in establishing favorable long-term outcomes for your daughter, according to research. Parental participation is actively participating in their child’s treatment as well as their own treatment and progress.

Our program focuses on repairing broken relationships and helping family members to reunite and grow their fractured relationships. We have four family workshops hosted on campus each year.  Our workshops are known for being effective, empowering, and eye-opening.

Focused On Academics and Therapy

At Evangel house Christian Academy, licensed teachers with advanced degrees administer a nationally accredited curriculum through the Louisiana Department of Education. Our unique and thorough therapeutic evaluation process guides education planning for each student. Student-to-teacher ratios accommodate learning difficulties presented by complex mood and behavior disorders. An integrative classroom day incorporates biblical teaching, group counseling, and academic work. We offer three educational tracts within our boarding school academic program. The individual attention we provide can support students who are advanced academically alongside those who may struggle.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 5% of high school students in the United States drop out each year. We know this affects a student’s future employment, earnings, potential health and so much more. We also know that students who have mental health issues at school are more likely to have poor school adjustment, fewer friends, more family discord, and future potential problems like drug and alcohol use, dropping out, and more. Recent studies also reveal that the mental health of teens gets worse as academic problems grow.

Today is the day to take action to set your daughter’s academic path in the right direction. We can help get her back on track quickly and support her as she blossoms into the bright, high-achieving student she is destined to be.

At Evangelhouse Christian Academy, an integrative classroom day incorporates biblical teaching, group counseling, and academic work. We offer three educational tracts within our boarding school academic program. The individual attention we provide can support students who are advanced academically alongside those who may struggle. Our goal for academics is to quickly adjust to your daughter’s learning level which often improves as stressors and behavioral problems subside.

Helping Georgia Teens With Our LifeLeaf System

The LifeLeaf system at Evangelhouse Christian Academy gives everyday living experiences of relationships with staff, peers, and parents. Dysfunctional coping skills and misperceptions of the student are often reenacted at Evangelhouse Christian Academy, and the girls have the opportunity to work through them with the help of skilled, competent, and caring treatment staff.

Parents often prefer to find a program that can create some distance from their daughter’s current stressors. This is so she will focus on the issues at hand, and not focus on her boyfriend, friends, pets, or family while getting treatment. Also, the temptation to call a friend to “rescue” her is diminished with some distance. While we are located in Louisana, we have enrolled girls from all 50-states.

Spiritual growth is a unique aspect of the Evangelhouse program. Students are urged to take notes during church sermons, establish personal bible study habits, and set aside time for prayer.

Every school day begins with a student-led group prayer and devotional reflection for the day. Before participating in a peer-led prayer group each night before bed, the group is given time for personal contemplation. Weekly group meetings are arranged to share challenges and offer support to the peer group. Each individual is also supervised and guided by staff members as they build healthy spiritual disciplines.

Many young girls have found their place in the world and lived a life of faith thanks to the Evangelhouse experiential education and family counseling method. Our Christian life-coaching program provides adolescent girls the self-assurance they need to face challenges and succeed. We urge kids to apply biblical principles to real-life circumstances and to rely on these principles to assist them through their adolescent years and beyond.

Evangelhouse all-girls, private boarding school is a twelve-month, year-round school which means your daughter may be admitted at any point in the year. If you have any questions about the program please call us at 1-800-924-4012 or visit our contact page.
