It is our goal to offer a traditional, academic program that is demanding while addressing our residents emotionally.

Ultimately, at Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls in Idaho, we aim to help our residents live productively, successfully, and confidently by applying the coping skills they have gained here.

Notably, we meet our students where they are. Our academic approach is to create an individualized academic plan that defines the academic targets, and assists with their learning and therapeutic process.

Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls is a fully approved academic institution that can help students enhance their self-esteem, and self-efficacy, and become lifelong learners. While it is a fact that all pupils can learn; we recognize that some students need emotional and individualized support from their learning community to achieve their goals.

This also allows for more hands-on, experiential learning to occur. We believe our students gain a richer, more meaningful learning experience when they are able to use appropriate learning tools in the field.  Another benefit to our program is that our academic curriculum runs year-round. This calendar lends itself well to filling in the gaps your child may have missed in their previous academic experience. Modern Therapy for Today’s Issues

At Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls in Idaho, we are an ideal environment to help teen girls learn how to overcome the trauma of being bullied. Cyberbullying has become a common topic in therapeutic research today. Being bullied online has surpassed bullying as the most common kind of harassment experienced by teen girls in the United States.

Teens can use Snapchat, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter to communicate with one another and other positive identity development uses. That being said, being online can cause a lot of different problems for a variety of reasons. Social media has many positive uses, but its negatives can include low self-esteem due to constant comparison with others, feelings of being “ugly” or not having enough friends, and it also exposes young girls to being bullied online.

While peer pressure isn’t a new problem, being online and using social media apps has elevated it to new heights. Sexting, for example, is a big source of concern for many families. We provide a positive Christian environment where we seek to instill the core values girls today need.

At Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls in Idaho, our girls develop character and build their relationship skills. As a result, they are able to act in a mature and responsible manner online when they transition back home. Instead of socializing online with no supervision, girls at Evangelhouse socialize in the therapeutic setting with counselors and other trained staff observing or participating in the conversation.

Therapeutic Boarding School or Idaho Residential Treatment Center?

Choosing Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls in Idaho over local residential treatment centers may be the best for your daughter. It all depends on the circumstances behind your concern and your daughter’s specific needs. Our program is a Christian-based, highly sophisticated clinical treatment at the forefront of teen behavioral healthcare. Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls is designed to meet the requirements of teen girls in grades 6-12.

While a residential treatment center generally offers a higher level of psychiatric care, this higher level comes with trade-offs. Students at residential treatment centers will be more severe in their illness. This means more exposure to potential hazards like violence, anger, or talk of drugs and alcohol. Residential treatment centers tend to be more hospital-like, and therapeutic boarding schools like Evangelhouse tend to be more home-like.

We feel that the home-like setting is more appropriate for the level of girls we accept. After all, we are preparing our girls for the transition home. Therefore, an environment like the Evangelhouse campus is a better place to practice new coping skills and ways of interacting and socializing versus a stale hospital-like setting. Because our girls live together on campus, they can help each other in academic and extracurricular activities.

However, that’s not to say Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls is lacking in our clinical department. Our focus is just more on repairing relationships with family and learning new coping skills versus medication management.  Our clinical program includes family therapy techniques as we firmly believe in the strength and vitality of family bonds, along with finding support spiritually in our non-denominational setting.

Parental involvement in residential treatment is the most important aspect in establishing favorable long-term outcomes for your daughter, according to research. Parental participation is actively participating in their child’s treatment as well as their own treatment and progress.

Our program focuses on repairing broken relationships and helping family members to reunite and grow their fractured relationships. We have four family workshops hosted on campus each year.  Our workshops are known for being effective, empowering, and eye-opening.

Idaho Girls Thrive at our Therapeutic Boarding School

With our positive peer culture focus, your daughter will learn to set boundaries with other girls. Because we are girls only, she will not have the distractions of boys and relationships around.  In our therapeutic milieu, she will learn to be assertive with her female peers in a safe environment.

    Individualized Therapy for Girls

At Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls, we have seen many issues over the years plague young girls in grades 6-12. Today’s issues are more profound than ever. It used to be that just picking a career, or finding a marital partner was the most a girl had to worry about.

Today’s modern fast-paced world is much different. Girls go online to socialize and connect. They are in social competitions for likes on social media, and they are pressured to take photos showing their best sides in the public for followers. Online bullying and other cyber pressures are unique to this generation of girls.

Below are 5 issues that are different today for girls:

    “Fitting in”

From buying the right clothes to hanging out with the right people, fitting in today is harder than ever. Part of this is due to how publicly the typical teen lives thanks to the internet. Often, the pressure to fit in is too much. This is when the outside help of a therapeutic boarding school like Evangelhouse is warranted.

    Motivation

Teenagers have gotten more secluded in their virtual worlds. No longer are teens motivated by getting their own car or a job. It’s often difficult to find motivation for a young teen that does not involve something related to a screen. At Evangelhousetherapeutic boarding school for girls, we help girls find that inner spark and re-discover who they are.

    Disrespect

Teens are surrounded by disrespect today. They see it in the movies they watch and the online games they play. It’s pervasive in modern music as well. Even female “role models” in modern pop music sing songs that are often disrespectful to themselves. At Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls, we help young ladies build self-respect through our positive peer culture.

    Depression and Anxiety

Interacting mainly online has been linked to depression and anxiety. We look at photos of others online and it’s just human nature to compare. Being cooped up at home and cut off from the rest of the world only adds to the sensation.

Teens are suffering from depression and anxiety perhaps more than ever before. Many teens’ online “friends” will post only the best photos on vacation after taking multiple shots. This leaves followers feeling inadequate and that they are somehow missing out.

At Evangelhouse therapeutic boarding school for girls, we treat depression, anxiety, and a host of other issues. Individual, family, and group therapy interventions are structured within the Evangelhouse Lifeleaf™ system. This state-of-the-art system challenges students to work beyond symptom improvement. This unique integrative approach leads students to maturity, insight, and self-awareness. The blend of Christian values and professional clinical psychotherapy includes:

    • Professional assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
    • Weekly individual therapy
    • Weekly group therapy
    • Parent and family therapy
    • Weekly therapeutic emphasis groups

This school literally has given my daughter her life back and has given us the tools to help her and herself into the future. This is a full circle, all encompassing program. From admission to graduation. Do not delete this school from your list! I almost did because it was far away...and...to be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about a "Christian" school. Whether you are religious or not, don't be put off or think your child is going to be brainwashed. She's not! It is a part of the day and I thought my daughter would hate it (and so did she). But it turns out she found great comfort there and her faith! I thoroughly investigated this school. In addition to my own research, I also hired a company that researches and screens these types of programs. I also had my daughter's psychiatrist interview the director! I've done all the researching and investigating for you. Whatever your daughter's issues may be, I probably have them covered! My daughter's diagnosis' range from ADHD, Anxiety, High Risk Behavior, Adoption issues/trauma and psychosis. Do not waste your time. Don't wait for Spring or end of school or whatever timeline. Act now! The happiest day of my life was delivering her to the ECA. I actually slept for the first time in years. Knowing my daughter was finally getting the help she so deserved. Therapy, school, socialization, faith, responsibility, accountability, self-worth and confidence. We all ask or pray for help. Consider ECA as prayers answered.

I graduated from ECA 4 years ago, and I can genuinely say that this place is truly amazing. It can and will help your daughter if she wants to put in the work. The staff and the girls I was with all made me feel like family and that I mattered. This place really saved my life, so if you are looking for a place that will help your daughter please send her here, I promise they will take care of her.

We had a troubled teen. I found ECA online. I made a call and set up a visit. We were looking for a place that included God and biblical principles in their program. Now that our child has finished the program, WOW! Thank you ECA leadership. Every one on staff believes in the program. It shows! and it works!!

This school has been an absolute Godsend for my daughter and our family. We realized a few months ago that she needed residential treatment. After an exhaustive search, we found the wonderful people at Evangelhouse. They do an amazing job keeping parents updated and are always available when we call. I have been impressed with the way that they are firm with the girls but also loving and caring. The process there is amazing, especially since it involves the family also. We were so happy to find a place that provides professional counseling with a Christian focus.

Two years ago we were struggling to get our daughter on the right track. We had tried everything and knew that she would need to be placed in a residential treatment facility. We had searched for at least a year to find the right place. Were looking for a Christian, all girls, small, therapeutic program not too far from Texas. Somehow, someway, God lead us to the Evangelhouse website. We are so glad that we took his direction because it has meant a world of difference for our daughter, our family, our marriage, and our peace of mind! Evangelhouse has taken a once broken, low-self esteem, miserable, self-centered, hostile, angry, self-doubting teenager in crisis and changed her into a Christ-centered, selfless, self-loving, servant-hearted, mature, sensible, responsible, thoughtful young adult. ECA implements a program that strips each student down to the bare necessities in order for them to focus on what is truly important in life. I don't know where we would be without ECA. I now know what it is like to have a functional, happy, and peaceful family life.
