Christian Boarding School for Girls Maine

A Better Christian Boarding School Education At Evangelhouse

Our stop strength at Evangelhouse Christian boarding school for girls in Maine is that an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ is nurtured and developed within the school’s setting, and through local church involvement. An overriding emphasis on conservative Christian values permeates all segments of the program.

The Christian emphasis seamlessly integrates with professional counseling and clinical aspects of the school.  In comparison to co-ed Christian boarding schools in Maine, female classmates in coeducational schools are less motivated and have lower goals than students at girls’ schools. In girls’ schools, like Evangelhouse Evangelhouse Christian boarding school for girls, 99 percent of pupils aim to complete a four-year degree. Over two-thirds anticipate obtaining a graduate or professional degree.

In a 2018 study published by Higher Education Research Institute, researchers found that in comparison to their female counterparts at coed institutions, graduates of girls’ schools:

  • Possess superior academic ability
  • Are more interested in their studies
  • Show more assurance in your scientific abilities.
  • Demonstrate greater cultural competence
  • Show greater commitment to the community
  • Increase political activity.

Compared to coeducational schools in Maine, single-sex schools like Evangelhouse showed more beneficial academic and behavioral relationships between instructors and pupils. Across a range of cultures, single-sex schools and colleges tend to have superior academic outcomes for female students in particular. Schools with only one gender like Evangelhouse benefit students’ academic performance, partly due to the specialization and dedication of qualified staff members who only focus on girls.

Christian Boarding School Creating Tomorrow’s Maine Leaders

Women from Maine have come a long way in the field of leadership. For the position of president of the United States, Hilary Clinton ran. Condoleezza Rice, Madeleine Albright, and Hillary Clinton have all served as secretaries of state. Israel’s premier was Golda Meir. The Prime Minister of England at the time was Margaret Thatcher. Hewlett-CEO Packard’s was Carleton Fiorina. Despite these outstanding accomplishments, women still struggle to advance to senior positions in any field.

Girls in a single-sex academic environment like Evangelhouse Christian boarding school for girls show a lot of confidence in female leadership and show an increasing interest in taking on leadership roles themselves. According to data, females in coeducational schools actually lose interest in leadership roles as they become older.

Women often lack strong female role models and engaging ways to convey important disciplines like math, physics, and technology—subjects that offer males an advantage in the job market. A girl’s interest in non-traditional subjects might be sparked by knowledgeable instructors who comprehend girls and their learning styles. They can inspire a young woman to pursue a career in business leadership rather than restricting her options to teaching or nursing.

The Christian education provided at Evangelhouse Christian boarding school for girls incorporates a biblical viewpoint throughout every subject area studied, not just a Bible/religion lesson on top of regular academics. Students may study how the natural rules and order of the universe reveal God’s creation in science class; in physical education, they may study how to set a Christ-like example both on and off the field.

Students from Maine gain an understanding of how following God doesn’t just apply to one aspect of life via these encounters. The education provided by Evangelhouse creates a solid foundation for girls which enables them to succeed academically, spiritually, and socially. This creates a springboard for our girls to successfully enter college and succeed in their careers.

Therapeutic Christian Boarding School for Girls

At Evanglehouse Christian boarding school for girls from Maine, we see a lot of teen girls who are trying to find their place in society and want to be recognized and appreciated for who they are. Many of the young ladies from Maine we work with at Evangelhouse are dealing with anxiety and insecurity, and the root cause can be often traced back to a social media app. Often, it’s the student’s peers at their school who are causing the trouble. We address comparing ourselves to others in group therapy, and why the image you see on Instagram might not be an accurate portrayal of that person’s life.

We understand that many girls from Maine may experience emotions of loneliness and even as far as depression as a result of not fitting in, whether that is real or imagined. Add to that, consider all of the negativity today’s teen girl finds online. Violent video games, sexualized content, bullying, hate speech, and more are readily available online. Add to this the constant comparison and competition for “likes” and followers their peers in the high school compete for. It’s no wonder so many girls report feeling depressed.

Today’s teen girl has so many more potential dangers than any proceeding generation. Just consider that eating issues, self-esteem issues, and identity issues usually begin soon before or during puberty.  Eating disorders like binge eating, bulimia, or anorexia can have a negative impact on a teen girl’s family relationships, her physical health, her outlook, attitude, and her relationship with God.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms can be fantastic methods for girls to engage with the world when used appropriately. On the other side, they can be quite dangerous and harmful to self-esteem and more when misused.  Our staff oversees and influences the culture of positive-peer influence at Evangelhouse Christian boarding school for girls. In this way, we seek to guide our girls from Maine towards a more mature and responsible way of interacting and facing the dangers in today’s world.
