South Carolina Residential Treatment Center for Girls

How Your Daughter Can Benefit from Attending a Residential Treatment Center for Teen Girls

When selecting a residential treatment program for South Carolina girls, there are numerous things to take into account. The degree of safety is possibly the most important of them. Although the term “residential treatment center” may conjure up images of danger, you may rest easy knowing that your daughter will be under the supervision of skilled professionals. The well-being of your daughter is, in reality, our first priority.

Equine therapy and horseback riding is just one aspect of residential treatment at Evangelhouse our girls both enjoy and benefit from. There are other residential treatment modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). To assist your daughter, residential therapy employs a comprehensive strategy that concurrently addresses the mind, body, and spirit. Additionally, psychiatric therapies are offered to help your daughter choose a positive course.

Family therapy is one of the most important advantages a residential treatment center for South Carolina girls like Evangelhouse can provide. Residential therapy is built on improving the environment, unlike many techniques that only address the symptoms of your daughter’s problems. The treatment at a residential treatment center for girls from South Carolina like Evangelhouse assures that your daughter will be on the path to a healthy future rather than just momentarily improving the issue by involving the family in the healing process.

The experience of residential treatment is not tedious; rather, it is enjoyable. Activities that are pleasant also happen to be therapeutic and informative. A residential treatment center can help your daughter feel better whether she is battling mental illness or just needs a break.

What is an RTC (Residential Treatment Center)

Parents of teen girls from South Carolina seeking a residential treatment center often express that outpatient therapy was simply not enough. At Evangelhouse RTC for girls, major emotional and behavioral issues receive intense support from residential treatment staff including therapists, support staff, and a psychologist and psychiatrist. Teen girls who are undergoing residential treatment at Evangelhouse temporarily live away from their homes where they may be watched over and observed by qualified professionals.

Residential treatment centers like Evangelhouse serve teen girls whose health is in danger while residing in their community. These girls may benefit from the structure and oversight of residential care which includes overnight awake staff members. For those, for instance, who have not responded to outpatient therapies, whose educational demands cannot be satisfied in less restricted settings at their local schools, or who require more rigorous therapy after receiving inpatient psychiatric care, a program like Evangelhouse RTC for South Carolina girls can be effective.

Reputable residential treatment programs like Evangelhouse RTC for girls provide the following:

    • An RTC should include a thorough assessment of a person’s emotional, behavioral, medical, educational, and social requirements that identifies safe support options.
    • An RTC should have an accredited academic program so the child does not fall behind in school.
    • An RTC should provide a personalized treatment plan that includes treatments to aid the teen in achieving their treatment goals.
    • RTCs like Evangelhouse generally provide group and individual counseling in addition to the care of a psychologist and psychiatrist who manage psychiatric treatment.
    • Quality RTCs include the involvement of the child’s support network or family. Family treatment and interaction through on-site visits, house passes, phone conversations, and other forms of connection are encouraged and made possible by model residential programs.

Now let’s look at what an RTC for South Carolina girls should not include. Youth with emotional and behavioral problems can be helped in non-violent and reliable ways. Any residential treatment program should not utilize physical punishment, coercion, or intimidation. A high-quality RTC like Evangelhouse uses evidence-based interventions to change behavior, not negative consequences that could potentially harm the student.

Help With Stress At An RTC

South Carolina teenagers in the modern era face difficulties that their grandparents could have never imagined. Electronic media had compounded many of the “typical teen” conflicts that parents and teens normally encounter. Other issues, like issues with authority and control, are as old as time.

At Evangelhouse RTC, we approach treatment knowing that teens’ interactions with their classmates and romantic interests have changed. Many of the issues we see from anxiety to acting out are rooted in screens or as a result of the widespread use of digital communication.

During treatment, we seek to address a student’s potential lack of crucial interpersonal communication skills such as the ability to recognize social cues. Social skill is a common topic in our therapeutic environment. A lot of the anxiety and stress our students face over socialization can be traced back to excessive use of technology.

At Evangelhouse RTC, South Carolina girls learn how to interact without the use of screens. We teach our girls how to manage their social media and texting habits. In insight-oriented therapy, they learn how they consume media, and how media can influence how they communicate, date, learn, sleep, and more.

Stress is a typical reaction to the pressures, demands, and difficulties of life. It serves as a mental and physical cue to help you get ready for what is ahead.

    What Causes Stress?

When your brain senses a danger to your safety, your body immediately releases a wave of stress chemicals. You consequently become more attentive. You widen your eyes. Your breathing and heartbeat quicken. For increased power and speed, your heart pumps more oxygen to the muscles.

The stress reaction in your body serves to keep you safe. If necessary, it enables you to respond immediately, fight fiercely, or flee rapidly. Stress is also referred to as the fight-or-flight reaction for this reason.

The majority of the time, stress-inducing factors are not harmful. Commonplace events like taking an exam, being called upon in class, uncomfortable circumstances, or having too much to accomplish frequently lead to stress. This leads to emotional tension. However, your body produces stress hormones in response to emotional stress just like it does in response to a threat to your safety.

    In-The-Moment Focus to Avoid Stress

Our girls focus on the present because they don’t have constant access to the internet. With an absence of digital distractions, girls at Evangelhouse Residential Treatment Center face the issues that led them to our therapeutic community.

To help combat these stressors, our therapists use:

    — Group therapy sessions to develop insight into what is causing stress and to teach techniques to reduce stress. Group therapy sessions are led by a qualified treatment professional.

    — CBT- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT sessions are led by a licensed therapist.

    — DBT- Dialectical Behavior Therapy. DBT sessions are led by a licensed therapist.

    — Homework assignments to support therapy outside of sessions

    — Family therapy to prepare the student for a successful transition back to the home environment.

    RTC for Troubled Girls

Evangelhouse RTC for troubled girls receives a diverse range of teenage girls that include students with learning difficulties, attention deficits, or trauma-related emotional illnesses. Evangelhouse RTC is willing to open its door to help any teenage girl suffering emotionally and academically. Our students may have been turned away from other school settings, but if your daughter can benefit from our program then we will work with you. It is our goal to offer a traditional, academic program that is demanding while addressing our residents emotionally.

Our pride and delight are our children. We become the parents kids deserve when we have that immediate connection when they are first born. We have always loved them unconditionally. No of their age, they are our world and demand our attention.

We still have a duty to make sure that our kids are safe, both from themselves and others as they become older and begin to mature into adults. The teen years may be particularly trying for both you and your child. They are starting high school, undergoing physical changes, getting to know new people, and figuring out how to fit into society. Ultimately, at Evangelhouse RTC for troubled girls we aim to help our residents live productively, successfully, and confidently by applying the coping skills they have gained here.

Notably, we meet our students where they are. Our academic approach is to create an individualized academic plan that defines the academic targets, and assists with their learning and therapeutic process.

Evangelhouse RTC for troubled girls from South Carolina is a fully approved academic institution that can help students enhance their self-esteem, and self-efficacy, and become lifelong learners. While it is a fact that all pupils can learn; we recognize that some students need emotional and individualized support from their learning community to achieve their goals.

One great advantage of attending Evangelhouse RTC for troubled girls from South Carolina is our smaller class size which allows for greater personalized attention. This also allows for more hands-on, experiential learning to occur. We believe our students gain a richer, more meaningful learning experience when they are able to use appropriate learning tools in the field.  Another benefit to our program is that our academic curriculum runs year-round. This calendar lends itself well to filling in the gaps your child may have missed in their previous academic experience. When your daughter completes her academic program at Evangelhouse Christian Academy she will attend a graduation ceremony and receive an accredited diploma. A benefit of receiving an accredited diploma is that our students may transfer credits if applicable.

This school literally has given my daughter her life back and has given us the tools to help her and herself into the future. This is a full circle, all encompassing program. From admission to graduation. Do not delete this school from your list! I almost did because it was far away...and...to be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about a "Christian" school. Whether you are religious or not, don't be put off or think your child is going to be brainwashed. She's not! It is a part of the day and I thought my daughter would hate it (and so did she). But it turns out she found great comfort there and her faith! I thoroughly investigated this school. In addition to my own research, I also hired a company that researches and screens these types of programs. I also had my daughter's psychiatrist interview the director! I've done all the researching and investigating for you. Whatever your daughter's issues may be, I probably have them covered! My daughter's diagnosis' range from ADHD, Anxiety, High Risk Behavior, Adoption issues/trauma and psychosis. Do not waste your time. Don't wait for Spring or end of school or whatever timeline. Act now! The happiest day of my life was delivering her to the ECA. I actually slept for the first time in years. Knowing my daughter was finally getting the help she so deserved. Therapy, school, socialization, faith, responsibility, accountability, self-worth and confidence. We all ask or pray for help. Consider ECA as prayers answered.

I graduated from ECA 4 years ago, and I can genuinely say that this place is truly amazing. It can and will help your daughter if she wants to put in the work. The staff and the girls I was with all made me feel like family and that I mattered. This place really saved my life, so if you are looking for a place that will help your daughter please send her here, I promise they will take care of her.

We had a troubled teen. I found ECA online. I made a call and set up a visit. We were looking for a place that included God and biblical principles in their program. Now that our child has finished the program, WOW! Thank you ECA leadership. Every one on staff believes in the program. It shows! and it works!!

This school has been an absolute Godsend for my daughter and our family. We realized a few months ago that she needed residential treatment. After an exhaustive search, we found the wonderful people at Evangelhouse. They do an amazing job keeping parents updated and are always available when we call. I have been impressed with the way that they are firm with the girls but also loving and caring. The process there is amazing, especially since it involves the family also. We were so happy to find a place that provides professional counseling with a Christian focus.

Two years ago we were struggling to get our daughter on the right track. We had tried everything and knew that she would need to be placed in a residential treatment facility. We had searched for at least a year to find the right place. Were looking for a Christian, all girls, small, therapeutic program not too far from Texas. Somehow, someway, God lead us to the Evangelhouse website. We are so glad that we took his direction because it has meant a world of difference for our daughter, our family, our marriage, and our peace of mind! Evangelhouse has taken a once broken, low-self esteem, miserable, self-centered, hostile, angry, self-doubting teenager in crisis and changed her into a Christ-centered, selfless, self-loving, servant-hearted, mature, sensible, responsible, thoughtful young adult. ECA implements a program that strips each student down to the bare necessities in order for them to focus on what is truly important in life. I don't know where we would be without ECA. I now know what it is like to have a functional, happy, and peaceful family life.
