Bachelor of Psychology – Harding University

Master of Marriage & Family Therapy – Valdosta State University

Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist – State of Louisiana

Joined Evangelhouse March, 2019

Allison serves as the teen and family therapist at Evangelhouse Christian Academy. Her love for therapy began while she was a general studies student at Harding University in Searcy, AR. She did volunteer work for P.A.T.H. (Partners Against Trafficking Humans), a shelter for survivors of human trafficking. There she found she had a passion for helping women to rehabilitate and heal from their traumatic experiences. She trained in Victims Services and Awareness to be a part of P.A.T.H’s mission to stop human trafficking, and soon switched her major to psychology with a minor in Bible and missions. Through Harding University’s ample mission opportunities, Allison participated in several mission trips that took her to India, Japan, and Cambodia. She spent the summer of 2015 as a Global Outreachintern shadowing a missionary in Mumbai, India. Once her internship had ended she traveled independently to the rural villages of southern India to teach English at Elim School of Preaching and Church of Christ. That following summer she volunteered with Let’s Start Talkingto teach English in the cities of Numazu and Kojima, Japan, using simplified books of the Bible. The last semester of her undergraduate career, Allison gained an internship through her psychology program at Wilbur D. Mills Rehabilitation center. There she was introduced to residential treatment and gained first-hand experience working with a population overcoming addiction. In 2016 she earned her Bachelor of Science of Psychology degree. From there she continued her education at Valdosta State University in southern Georgia and in 2018 obtained her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree. While in graduate school, Allison sought ways outside of the classroom to further her therapeutic skills. Her interest in trauma led her to pursue basic training in Somatic and Attachment-Focused E.M.D.R. through EMDRIA, and to complete 50 CEU’s in Ericksonian therapy under the instruction of Douglas Flemons. Allison completed three internships while at VSU. Through Lighthouse Children’s Advocacy Center, she worked alongside the social workers and schools of Sumter County to provide counseling services to families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services. She also interned at Kindle Lodge, a residential treatment center for veteran males in Quitman, GA. She ran group sessions and provided therapeutic interventions for servicemen suffering from PTSD. Her experience at FamilyWorks, a community clinic in Valdosta, GA, allowed her to work with singles, couples, and families of all ages. Allison’s systemic therapeutic training considers the values, multiple social groups, and experiences that contribute to an individual’s identity and the family system as a whole.
