Sexual exploitation can have a profound impact on a teenage girl’s emotional well being, relationships, confidence, and sense of safety. Girls who have experienced exploitation may struggle with anxiety, depression, difficulty trusting others, unhealthy relationships, or challenges establishing boundaries. In these situations, a therapeutic boarding school like Evangelhouse can provide a structured and supportive environment where girls can begin rebuilding stability and developing healthier coping skills. At Evangelhouse, we work toward positive outcomes by helping girls strengthen emotional regulation, confidence, and healthy decision making.
Evangelhouse provides a safe and structured environment where teen girls can receive individualized support and care. Our trained professionals understand the complex emotional and relational challenges that can follow sexual exploitation. Through consistent support and therapeutic guidance, girls have opportunities to process difficult experiences, strengthen their sense of safety, and develop healthier ways of managing emotions and relationships.
At Evangelhouse, therapy is an important part of helping girls move forward. Evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) can help girls identify unhealthy thought patterns, develop emotional regulation skills, improve communication, and practice healthier coping strategies. Therapeutic and recreational activities can also provide positive opportunities for self expression, confidence building, and personal growth.
A positive peer community can be especially valuable for girls who have experienced exploitation. Shame, isolation, or difficulty trusting others can make healthy relationships challenging. Evangelhouse provides opportunities for girls to experience supportive connections with peers and trusted adults while learning about respect, communication, personal boundaries, and healthy relationships. Feeling accepted within a supportive community can help girls recognize that their experiences do not define their identity or their future.
Sexual exploitation can affect many areas of a teenager’s life, which is why recovery should consider the whole person. Evangelhouse combines therapeutic support, academics, structure, positive relationships, and opportunities for personal development. By helping girls strengthen coping skills, establish healthy boundaries, rebuild confidence, and recognize their individual strengths, we work to prepare them for healthier and more independent futures.
Positive Peer Community
Evangelhouse Residential Treatment Center is a year-round community offering academics during the school year and summer months. Our structured environment gives teen girls the consistency, guidance, and support they need to step away from unhealthy patterns and begin developing healthier ways of responding to challenges. We work closely with each girl and her family to develop an individualized plan that addresses concerning behaviors, emotional needs, relationships, and personal goals before negative patterns become increasingly disruptive.
We’ll work together to design a plan to address and repair negative behavior patterns before they become destructive. Our caring community provides a secure place for your daughter to grow and learn. You can read about our healthy peer culture here.
Healing and personal growth take time, which is why the year round residential environment at Evangelhouse provides opportunities to practice these skills consistently. With guidance from caring adults and encouragement from a positive peer community, girls can begin rebuilding damaged relationships, developing greater independence, and recognizing that their past experiences do not have to determine their future.
Our work can begin once your daughter feels safe to express herself. We will help her achieve confidence and resilience to repair damaged relationships, advocate for needs, set boundaries, and tackle life’s obstacles.
